About
Mirtech, Inc. was established in 1995. The main office is located in Brockton, MA. In addition, there is a lab facility in South Boston, MA. At this location there exists an electronic shop and machine shop. The location is conveniently located near many universities and hospitals in the Boston area and as such is the primary work location.
The lab facility includes Network Analyzers, two 3D printers (Polyjet and FDM), prototype PCB manufacturing, and a minispec interfaced to a Tecmag console.

Mirko I. Hrovat, Ph.D.
Dr. Hrovat is President and Chief Scientist at Mirtech, Inc., a company he established in 1995 to develop several ideas for NMR/MRI hardware as well as to collaborate and provide services to other MRI investigators. Dr. Hrovat received his PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982. He has more than 30 years of experience in many facets of MRI and has played an important role in the development of hyperpolarized xenon applications at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He has extensive experience and expertise in the areas of RF coil design, MRI system design, RF electronics, and pulse sequence development. He was a member of a team at IBM instruments that investigated MRI during its infancy. He has modified commercial systems to make them broadband and has built many specialty rf coils for MRI. Over the years he has developed pulse sequences, reconstruction algorithms, and data analysis procedures. Dr. Hrovat also developed custom hardware and software to perform system noise figure analysis and to measure the noise figure of coils. The latter can be used to quantify the amount of external noise that is detected by an rf coil.
